Dinner, dessert, and decorations were provided by those serving on the 50th Anniversary Committee

Nativity scenes were used as centerpieces following the theme set forth in the scriptural lessons.

On the night of our first event, we looked back to celebrations of the past.

In addition to worship, celebrations at St. Luke's always seem to include food and fellowship.

Edith Sheahan, a founding member, provided her "recipe" for the Epiphany Cake. Based on the items hidden in the Cake, we assembles a "Royal Court" for the evening.

Cheryl Ball (Queen: pea), Gary Ball (King: bean), Nancy Hayselden (Older: raisin), Jim Carl (Sweeter: candy), Cindy Speicher (Nuttier: nut), Tom Hayselden (Richer: dime), Deb Callaway (Wedding: ring), Mike Jones (Seamstress: thimble), Marcia Streepy (Bachelor: button), Maxwell Hayselden (Poorer: penny).

We remembered the years when parishioners brought their Christmas trees to St. Luke's for a traditional Epiphany Bonfire. That tradition will remain in the past because it has proven to be impossible to burn today's live trees because they're treated to be fire-retardant. Therefore, on Epiphany 2009, we carried out votive cantles to line the sidewalks and to symbolize the belief that we are still called to manifest Christ's light in the world today.
