Title: Growing in Faith, Through Friendship
Open your hearts to God’s Spirit. A weekend of visioning for St Luke’s.
“True friendships are not relationships we control but adventures we enter into…”
As the friends of God, the church is a place to join the adventure of life with God in community. In an age of fewer people joining the church, we long to share the benefits of spiritual community with others.
This weekend will nurture refreshment in your individual, communal and Divine friendships. Through guided prayer, meaningful small group conversations, large group learning using music, poetry and art you can expect this time to also renew purpose, mission and hope at St. Luke's Shawnee.
Ultimately the purpose of friendship in the church is to enact God’s narrative of love, healing and redemption of the world.
Please RSVP to the Office email and Sign Up to bring something to our Potluck Dinner on Friday Sept. 6th.
Everyone from St. Luke’s is invited to attend this informative retreat with Canon Lisa Senuta.
The Rev. Lisa Senuta is Canon for Spiritual Life and Clergy Care in the Diocese of Kansas. Her work with Bishop Bascom encourages spiritual growth, and the health and vitality of clergy and parishes. Mother Lisa guides retreats across the Episcopal church for spiritual growth and reconnecting with the joy at the heart of our parish communities. Mother Lisa was ordained in the diocese of Kansas in 2001 and has served parishes in both the Diocese of Kansas and Diocese of Chicago. She was trained through Shalem School of Spiritual Formation in DC attaining certificates in two courses of study, leading groups and retreats as well as spiritual direction. Her longing is to guide others to listen for the direction of the Holy Spirit in their lives and communities.
