Sacraments: God's grace comes to us

As a church community we lovingly support each other through joyous and sorrowful moments of our lives. Living this way we make God's love known to one another. God works through sacramental ritual to offer us his grace.

Baptisms

Baptism

God takes the initiative in our lives through the grace of Holy Baptism; we cannot save ourselves. Through baptism we enter into the life of the church, which is the mystical body of Christ. (We don't join a church, we enter into the life of the church.)  We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds to the sacrament of Baptism.  Baptisms are performed during Sunday services.
Contact the church office for more details.

Weddings

Marriage

Celebrating the love found between two people in the presence of one’s family, friends and God is a joyous occasion!.  St. Luke's Church welcomes you as you prepare for your marriage.  Our clergy preside at weddings both here at the church as well as weddings held at other locations.  In the Episcopal Church it is required that one of the parties be a baptized Christian. The clergy perform weddings of all people regardless of whether or not they are Episcopalian, members of St. Luke's Church, single, divorced or widowed. We need a minimum of six weeks notice. We look forward to celebrating this joyous moment with you! Contact the church office for more details

Funerals

Losing a loved one is a challenging moment for families and friends, and the priest is available to assist you in making arrangements to honor your loved one.  The priest presides at the funeral of any person, whether or not a member of St. Luke's Church. When a death is imminent, the priest can come and offer prayers and perform the service of ministration at the time of death. Contact the priest through the church office.

St. Luke's Church has a Memorial Garden for cremated remains. It is a small, peaceful spot in the garden area with a beautiful stone memorial plaque and garden benches. To make arrangements in advance contact our clergy.

Other Sacraments

God's grace is available through other forms and rituals in the church. Confirmation by the bishop gives us the opportunity to claim our faith and find strength for the journey. The Sacrament of Healing pours grace upon us to heal in body, mind, and spirit. The Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession) provides solace to those burdened by guilt and shame. The Sacrament of Ordination, called out by God to serve his holy people, the authority to administer the sacraments, lead worship, and provide pastoral care to the community of faith.
